Week 3, Hands, orders, spikes and death!
Icecream Jump » Devlog
This week was focused on getting the levels working, this included artwork for the hands that ask for the orders, and spikes.
Additions:
- Colliding with the Ice cream cone stack puts a cone in the players hand.
- Colliding with an Ice cream bucket adds Ice one scoop of that ice cream to the stack, if there is a cone.
- Colliding with an empty bucket removes everything from hand.
- Colliding with a spike empties hand and teleports the player to the start of the level.
- Hands that ask for orders at a given time and need to be filled before they leave.
- When all orders are filled the next level loads.
Changes:
- Updates spikes artwork from the placeholder to a custom spike artwork.
- Updated brick tiles on levels 2 and 3 to match their surroundings
Fixes:
- Fixed player loosing upward momentum when hitting a wall side on.
After game feedback in this weeks Thursday tutorial,
next week will focus on timing of the orders and adjusting the difficulty to make it easier for new players.
I also aim to add orders to levels 4 and 5, and a nice particles for various interactions.
